****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for calling back to the baliwaves.com (’99) for the very latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the “best chance for a wave” friendly little holiday island of Bali.
Just to bring ya’s up to scratch on yesterday the 6th first I suppose. Well it was a shocker of a day on the weather side of things. Pretty well didn’t stop raining for less than half an hour at a time all day. First up the “Doktor” from Keramas sent me a text saying there was some ok little waves coming through but also a lot of surfers in the water. So we just took our time and headed for Serangan. Mainly because that’s the closest location where we can get a good look at the wind and swell direction, and still be centrally located.
Serangan had waist to shoulder high wobbly waves with total surf school domination in the line up. From there we headed south down to Geger Beach, arriving just as a rain and wind squall was blowing in out of the South. There was quite a few surfers spread along the reef but it just didn’t have that much to offer for a lot of paddling work. So we finished off the scenic tour with a quick stop into Sri-Lanka for a look, but it wasn’t breaking.
This morning I thought we’d sneak in a surf check at Secret’s over on the East Coast. Mainly for the chance of a couple of uncrowded beach breaks. As you’ve already seen in the dozen photos I snapped this morning there was a couple of uncrowded fun little waves. Nothing special but waist to waist high plus and just our crew in the water and clean off shore wind.
Tidal info for today had a 0.4mtr Low @ 6.00AM and then pouring back in with a solid 2.6mtr High around Midday.
Weather wise, more rain to kick off the day this morning and basically cloudy with the odd sunny break and some more rain.
Swell Prediction Dept; After soaking up as much swell data as I could it’s a pretty safe bet to say that we should see a nice and maybe meaty new swell gracing our reefs sometime through this coming Saturday. Keeping everybody happy but slowly dropping out through till Monday. I don’t really care what happens after that. The charts are calling in a change of wind direction some time early to mid next week, E – SE. That’ll do me !
