****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hi folks and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves.com for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on everybody’s favorite surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Another top day of waves and surfing for the lucky one’s over here on holidays. This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing wave height in the waist to head high range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left (7.00AM). At the time the wind was still light and not quite dedicated, clean and glassy surfing conditions.
But we thought we’d head down to the Southern end of the island to Balangan to see what was happening. Our current swell direction is a little more SSW so the waves are going to be bigger down there right. As you’ve seen in today’s photo gallery we snapped it was another typical day at Balangan, nice waves and plenty of bikini parades. When we arrived there was only around 25 surfers in the water and some well over head set waves. With the high tide of 2.5mtrs around the 1.00PM mark it was a good time to chill out in the beach side cafes (warungs) and avoid the midday sun and wait for the tide to start running out.
We hung out until 4.30PM and there was still plenty of fast waves peeling off, but for some reason a lot of the learner / intermediate surfers hit the water towards the bottom of the tide creating a little kaos.
Weather wise for the best part of today it’s been mainly hot and sunny. Currently here in Tuban @ 7.30PM the temperature is sitting on 28 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity on 77%. Wind is coming out of the SE @ 26km’s.
No rest on the wave hunt, so we’ll be heading back out on the hunt again tomorrow morning and I’ll try to remember to send out some twitter up dates through out the day, if I have mobile reception.
We’ve also got some new surfing / accommodation packages sorted out for those of you who want nothing more to think about except surfing, at the right place at the right time. Hit this info link to find out more.
