****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (’99) for our Sunday Session and the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the hands down No.1 tropical surfing holiday island of Bali.
So this mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing some positive signs with a nice little visible increase in size. At 7.00AM it was showing in the waist to head high range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left, just around the bottom of the tide. Surfing conditions were fairly clean and glassy with the wind coming lightly out of the West at 2kms. Outside temperature @ 26 degree’s Celsius and a Humidity of 96%. Just after this mornings thunder, lightning and rain storm.
As you have already seen (I’m sure) in today’s 50 strong photo gallery I snapped off we were over on the East Coast at the World famous right hand wave of Keramas. Arriving @ 8.30AM to clean off-shore conditons and around waist to shoulder high plus waves breaking on the main break and at the car park. Only 8 surfers on Keramas and an empty line up at Car Parks.
We knew that if the charts were correct, and with the tide starting to run in that we would soon be seeing some more solid waves hitting the East Coast. And within the hour we had solid well over head sets coming through and within 2 hours double to double head high plus set waves. We hung out until around 12.30PM and by that time the wind had settled into a cross / on shore wind. But still just before we walked out there was a solid 15 wave set.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 0.8mtr Low @ 8.00AM and then running back in for a 2.2mtr High around the 2.00PM mark.
Weather wise it’s been a mainly hot and sunny day over on the East Coast with the temperature easily busting into the low 30’s on the Celsius scale.
Our daily from the G-Land Surf Camp was calling in double to double head high plus waves over at G-Land this morning. A little more West in the swell over on East Java so the best waves were on Kongs and Money Tree’s. At 7.45AM there were 3 surfers getting barrels on Money Tree’s.
