****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello surfers and welcome to the weekend on the baliwaves.com (’99) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
This morning I did get time to take a surf check on the Outer Reefs. I was hoping for a miracle, but not surprised to sea that wave height was down to a measly ankle to knee high between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions at 7.00AM were clean enough with the wind coming lightly out of the North.
So we didn’t have much choice other than to head down to the Southern end of the island to Uluwatu. Our first glimpse was to see wave height in the waist to chest high class with around 35 surfers spread between the Main Peak and Temple sections. Fun little waves with the occasional bigger set wave on both of the high tide sections. As the tide hit the top of the High around midday the waves were getting a little bit sluggish. But by mid afternoon as the tide was pouring out the set waves were now a more consistent head to well over head high and starting to run down the Racetrack section. Unfortunately we had to bail out around 3.30PM but I’m sure the Track would be cranking out kegs right now as I type at 5.20PM. Surfing conditions at Uluwatu were pretty much clean and glassy all day with the wind light and variable.
So it looks like we should have plenty of waves on offer all around Bali for Sunday. Make sure you call back in to see what your missing out on.
Weather wise we had a good dump of rain again last night and into the early hours of the morning. Today has been mainly overcast through the morning, warm and very humid with the sun busting out around 2.30PM. Currently now the temperature would still be around 29 degree’s Celsius.
Today’s news from the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be showing in the chest to well over head range on Kong’s and Money Tree’s. Clean and glassy surfing conditions, 2 surfers in the water on Money Tree’s at the time of this report (7.30AM East Java)
