****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello again and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (’99) for the latest news on surfing and weather information from the friendly little holiday island of Bali.
This morning started off with the mandatory surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. And as predicted there was a nice little bump in wave height. Now showing in the 2-4ft+ (waist to well over head) between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Kuta Reef was still holding up and peeling off waves in the chest to head high plus sector. Middle Reef was attracting some slightly bigger set waves and would have only kept improving with the out going tide. Not much happening down on Airport Left, just knee to waist high plus.
Surfing conditions were clean enough with the wind coming lightly out of the NE @ 1-3knot.
But with a falling tide and the chance of a little cleaner waves under the cliff face. We headed South down to Bali’s Premier surfing location of Uluwatu. There was still some solid waves breaking down on Bali’s bukit peninsular. Right down under the ancient Uluwatu Temple there were some big and perfect walls being ridden. The main Temple section itself wasn’t really lining up to well. While way out on the Bombie as the tide was started to get lower there were some waves rolling right through to the Main Peak. Plus in between the set waves there was another crew picking off the one’s running through the Racetrack section.
Surfing conditions down at Ulu were clean enough, but with still a fair bit of North in the wind it was a little lumpy on the Main Peak. It wasn’t until around 10.00AM that the ESE-SE off shore Tradewind started to lick in.
Tidal info for today had a 0.9mtr Low @ 11.00AM and then running back in for a 1.6mtr High @ 5.00PM.
Weather wise today it’s been a mainly cloudy morning with some sunny breaks, clearing up this afternoon. Temperature wise outside right now at 2.30PM it’s sitting on 28 degree’s Celsius with 74% humidity. Wind direction is coming out of the ESE @ 16 – 18knot.
Today’s G-Land Surf Report thanks to our friends over at the G-Land Surf Camp was calling for a solid bump in wave height this morning. 5 – 6 footers hitting Kongs and all the way down to the bottom of the Launching Pad. 2 surfers in the water at the time of this report (8.30AM East Java).
