****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hey friends and a big welcome back to the baliwaves.com (’99), the place you know your going to get the real deal on current surfing and weather conditions from right here on the best value for surfing holiday dollar destination of Bali.
I was down the beach this morning at 6.00AM for the surf recon on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. Hoping to see an early kick in wave height, but not at the time. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left was still down in the 2-2ft+ sector. With the tide still heading towards the lower end of the scale Middle Reef was the only option for a paddle, and even at that time there was at least a dozed surfers on it.
We just kicked back for a lazy breakfast at home and waited for the tide to start it’s run back in before grabbing a reef taxi out to Airport Left. As you’ve seen in today’s 43 strong photo gallery there were some nice little fun sized peelers coming through. Wave height was showing signs of picking up to the next level with each new batch of sets. Crowd wise just before midday it got a little crazy with a head count of 39. But by the time my crew were done wave height was a more consistent 3-4ft and only 15 surfers left in the line up.
I could also see own to Middle Reef from where we were anchored and crowd wise by this time there was at least 30 surfers out there, on the wrong end of the tide. By this time the SE off shore Tradewind was gusting into the 15-19knot range, making it just a little bit too in your face.
Weather wise, beautiful, perfect holiday stuff !
Swell forecast; In case you didn’t know, or maybe misinformed there’s only one website that gives the most accurate account on Indonesia and that one my friends is stormsurf.com
Today’s G-Land Surf Report thanks to our friends at the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be up into the solid double to double head high plus class. Once again the best waves were hitting Money Tree’s down to the Launching Pad. At 8.15AM (East Java) there were only 3 surfers in the water on Money Tree’s with clean and glass like surfing conditions. Want a discount into the G-land Surf Camp ? just send me an email and you got it !
Ok we also hope you liked the quick tour of Kuta to Legian we loaded into our Readers Report page, thanks to Ketut and Gede.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta (Bemo Corner) today was offering — 1AU$=Rp9,100 —
Ok I’m outta here, for a lazy afternoon back down at the beach with me mates.
