****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (’99) for the latest news and images of today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Special hello dept goes out to Lily Halliday and friends tuning into the baliwaves from Nelson Bay.
Starting off with our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban that had wave height back down into the 2-3ft range (waist to head high) between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. With the tide on the run out Middle Reef was again looking the best and had the bigger sized set waves. Around 10 surfers already in the water on Middle’s. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy.
My crew decided on surfing down on the bukit end of the island at Uluwatu, Bali’s premier surfing location and swell magnet. As you’ve already seen in today’s 53 strong photo gallery there were some real nice waves happening down at Ulu. We arrived as the tide was just starting to roll back in with wave height coming through in the waist to head high range. The tide was still a touch too low at first so the Racetrack had the better waves. But as the tide did fill in then Temples and the Main Peak started to pump. Wave height was also picking up through out the morning, by 11.30AM it was more like 3-4ft+ (head to well over head high). Crowd wise by midday the word was out and the numbers were showing 70 – 80 surfers spread between the Temple and the Track, and some blatant dropping in going down.
Driving home past Padang Padang and the top end of Impossible’s there wasn’t anything happening at PP but there did look to be a few lines peeling down through the middle section of Impossible’s.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 0.5mtr Low @ 8.30AM and then running back up for a 1.8mtr High around the 2.30PM mark.
Weather wise today it was just more pure holiday conditions with blue sky and sunshine. Temperature wise the midday reading would have easily busted through the 30 degree Celsius mark. Wind direction was pure dry season with the ESE – SE off shore Tradewind gusting up to 17knot.
Today’s G-Land Surf Report thanks to our friends at the G-Land Surf Camp was calling in wave height at head to well over head, and the best waves breaking from the bottom of Kongs all the way down through to the Launching Pad. No surfers in the water at 9.30AM (East Java). Don’t forget to drop us a line if any of you would like a solid discount off your next trip into the G-Land Surf Camp.
