****MORNING SURF UP DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (’99) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the happiest of all the holiday islands Bali.
First congratulations to my friends Kurt and Nila who were married yesterday here in Bali.
Back track to yesterday, as I mentioned on the 6th I shut everything down and put the boat in the water for a day of solitary relaxation out on the ocean, well needed I have to say. Surf wise between Kuta Reef here on the West Coast and Nyang Nyangs over on the South Eastern end of the island there wasn’t a lot happening anyway. Wave height was only ranging between 2-4ft with Uluwatu picking up the most of it. The weird thing also was that the wind was on shore pretty well all day varying direction between S-SW-W.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing some healthy new swell has arrived over night. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left is now back up into the over head to double head high class. Kuta Reef was looking the best and there was no shortage of surfers already in the “line up” at 8.00AM. Even with the wind fresh on shore out of the West.
Line up, get in line, take your turn, wait, this is what comes into my mind when I hear that word. You go to the supermarket and do some shopping then you get in the line up for the cashier right. So why do surfers here on holidays always want to jump the line up and go straight to the cashier every time (inside).
Anyway looking for a wave today I’d be heading over to the East Coast for clean surfing conditions and some quality right handers.
Tidal Info for today has us down for a 1.8mtr High @ 7.00AM and then running out for a 0.7mtr Low around the 1.30PM mark.
Weather wise it looks like we are in for another hot and humid one here in Bali. Currently right now at 9.30Am the outside temperature is on 27 degree’s Celsius with the humidity already @ 75%. Wind direction is coming out of the West @ 4-6knot.

I think locals should show the way by lining up too. Its true many tourists drop in but if the locals do it then there is little else you can do to get a wave! The “line up” becomes a “pecking order”!

It’s the Brazilians who don’t respect the line up. Always come in packs and have no clue what “line up” means

dont exagerate timmy , the local surfers in bali must be some of the most accomodating in the world , they constantly have to put up with disrespectfull wankers day in- day out, who turn their breaks into a circus free for all …,
they ( the local surfers ) dont go round punching peoples heads in
( like what would happen at a lot of other surf spots around the world if the same was to happen ) …,
they usually just smile and have fun …., and some occationly fade people to get their rightfull share of the crop, and personaly I dont blame them.
