Outer Reefs of Tuban to Uluwatu + Bingin 7th October 2011

Hello surfers and thanks for calling back by the baliwaves ’99, Bali’s first and foremost reigning surf and weather report website. The place that keeps you up to date with surfing and weather conditions here on the No.1 tropical holiday destination of surf, sun & fun, Bali.

This mornings 7.30AM surf surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban wasn’t looking the best with only waist to head high waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Well it wasn’t just the size that wasn’t looking too good, it was the fact that the wind was blowing out of the WNW and on shore. Even so there was still plenty of surfers making there way out to all of the 3 main sections of this living coral reef.

But we decided on taking a run down to Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu because even if the conditions aren’t exactly perfect it’s a great place to chill out in the cliff side cafe’s over looking the surfing arena of Ulu. There was still plenty of swell getting in down there with wave height a super consistent head to almost double head high. The tide was pretty well smack dead on the bottom end so the Racetrack was where the action was. Being more protected from the wind surfing conditions on the Track were still clean and tidy with 30 surfers spread through the “line up”.

Tidal info for today had us down for a 0.8mtr Low around the 11.30AM mark and then filling back up with a 1.5mtr High just after sunset.

Weather wise we had another cloudy and overcast start to the day that gradually cleared away for a hot and sunny afternoon. Currently right now @ 4.30AM the outside temperature is a warm 28 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity sitting on 66%. Also wind direction has done an about turn and now coming back out of the SE and clean off shore here along the West Coast. Sunrise @ 6.01AM, Sunset @ 6.14PM.
