****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hi folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves ’99 for the very latest and greatest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday island of Bali.
Well yesterday we did try to get ya’s some new photos but with the wind coming out of the WSW, pretty much cross on shore everywhere and limited swell hitting the reefs on both the east and west coasts it wasn’t worth it.
However today was a whole new ball game, waking to feel the wind coming lightly out of the North and the tide on the run in there was really only one good option and that was Canggu. The Outer Reefs here in Tuban were showing clean and glassy little waves in the 2-2ft+ sector between Kuta Reef and Airport Left (just for the record).
As we can see in today’s 63 strong photo gallery Canggu was cranking out some fun sized surf in the waist to head high range on all 3 main sections. My favorite the left hand sand bar was grinding some almost perfect kegs. While the right hander on the river mouth was also providing some nice little tube rides.
Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with a hint off off shore breeze thrown in for good measure through until 10.00AM when the wind shifted back around to the W-WSW.
Tidal info for today had a 1.8mtr High @ 10.00Am and then running out for a 0.7mtr Low @ 4.00PM.
Weather wise it’s been another mainly overcast type day with a few sunny breaks. Temperature wise right now at 4.00Pm the mercury is sitting on 31 degree’s Celsius with the wind now coming back out of the North @ 10knot. Sunrise was @ 5.52AM and will sink @ 6.29PM. Possible chance of a late arvo thunder storm.
Swell forecast; the charts are looking positive for the next 7 days with consistent small to medium sized waves. The charts are also showing the wind switching back to the SE sector, fingers crossed on that.
I also whacked together a new video clip for ya’s yesterday featuring the Keramas / East Coast Bali. It only runs for around 3 mins so give it a run.
Road Rage; How come Aussie women just can’t handle a friendly toot of the horn ? Coming home from Canggu today there were 3 women walking 3 a breast down the middle of the thin road. Around 30mtrs out I gave em a quick toot to move off the road, no response, so I gave em another double tap on the horn. Only then did they respond in good old Aussie accents with “f$@% you” and all 3 of these lovely ladies flipping the bird at us. What gives ?
Poll; well our latest poll has been running for awhile now and it appears the biggest request from the participants is for a “web cam” There has been a few websites attempt it here in Bali, but only to go down the gurglar. So hang in there and we’ll see what we can do about it, ya never know !
