20th May 2012 ****AFTERNOON SURF REPORT**** Hello surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves (since 1999) to see what's been going down surf and weather wise from right here on your favorite tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI. First off our apologies for not posting a report yesterday, but I tell ya's it wasn't from lack of trying. No sir, from a 100% internet failure and a total lack of customer service. But I have borrowed a friends machine and internet to get the show back on the road today. Tomorrow we'll be switching providers. Ok, so what I have down is loaded up yesterdays photos and report along with today's news and photos in one package. This morning with a fading swell, Outer Reefs here in Tuban had wave height down in the 1-2ft range and with another above average gusty ESE wind. So we headed down to Bali's Premier wave magnet location of Uluwatu. Here we found wave height in the chest to head high plus sector and only 10 surfers in the water at 8.00AM. Check the photos (1-23) for a more descriptive view. I also had a text surf report from our friends at the G-Land Surf Camp calling in wave height to have dropped back into the shoulder to head high plus range. But still some long enough walls for the lucky ones to enjoy peeling off down the reef on Money Tree's. Feel free to drop us a line if you would like a helping hand over to G-Land and a few bucks back in your pocket to go with it. We've also got another 100+ photos from our friends down at ESP who are located right in front of the mechanical wave of Binging near Julies Warung. You'll find those gems in our Readers Report page. Still waiting to be loaded up as well are a few surf up dates and a bunch of photos from the Real Kandui Surf Resort located up in the magical Mentawai Islands so stay tuned for those babies. If that's not enough keep an eye on our New surfcam pointed straight at the long line ups of Impossible's and see when the next swell starts to showing here on the real surfers paradise of Bali. Weather wise today it's been another warm and windy one here for the boys and girls on vacation in Bali. Ok so read on for yesterdays report Catch ya's again tomorrow for more of the best from Bali Slim 19th May 2012 ****AFTERNOON SURF REPORT**** Howdy folks and thanks again for calling by the baliwaves (since '99) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from right here on everybody's first choice tropical surfing holiday island of BALI. Once again we kicked off the day with a 6.30Am surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. Even at this time of the morning the SE off shore Trade wind was already hitting gusts of up to 15knot, fanning the already fading 2-4ft (chest to well over head high) waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. With the strong off shore it was already looking a little bit bumpy and showing all the signs that it would increase into the 15-20knot range. So we headed back down the bukit for another quick look at Balangan and then possibly on to the end of the line at Uluwatu. Arriving at Balangan around 8.00AM to find only a handful of surfers in the lline up and wave height coming through also in that shoulder to over head class. So with numbers looking good that's where we stopped. For the first hour it was coming through pretty consistant, but slowed right up towards the top end of the tide. The numbers also kept creeping up with the smaller sized waves and by 10.00AM there was around 60 surfers out and most with blinkers on. Tidal info for today had a 2.3mtr High @ 9.00AM and then running off for a 0.4mtr Low around the 3.30PM mark. Weather wise out there today it's been warm and windy. Currently right now at 5.00PM the outside temperature is sitting on 29 degree's Celsius, humidity 79%. Wind direction is SE @ 20knot+. Dave's G-Land Surf Report from the G-Land Surf Camp was calling in another perfect day of waves coming on for the lucky few over at the legendary left hand wave. Wave height still peeling off down the line on Money Tree's in the well over head class. Only 3 surfers in the water at 7.30AM East Java time.
