****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Howdy surfers and always a big thank you to everyone for taking the time out to call by the baliwaves.com (since 1999). Cause I’m sure you all know by now that this is the sie where your only going to be coming across our original information and not yesterdays news. From here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Just to get the show on the road here’s the 100 odd photos that Ketut Pica slammed off down at Uluwatu late yesterday afternoon. Featuring the fully tube tested Racetrack section and it’s test pilots of the day.
This mornings 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs once again was showing wave height coming through in the chest to well over head high range between Kuta Reef and Airports. With the tide just about on the bottom of the low it was again too shallow for Kuta Reef and Airports but Middle Reef was delivering some smoking head to well over head high set waves. As per the last week or so there has been a dawn patrol crew of around 10+ surfers on it, but give it another week or two and there will more than likely be a new crew in town.
Even at this time of the morning the wind was howling off shore out of the East so we opted for a lazy breakfast at home before heading down to the relatively cliff shelter of Balangan. With the tide now running in there were plenty of chest to well over head high set waves peeling off on the point and middle sections with only 8 surfers in the line up (on arrival that is). But… as the tide filled in more the circus started arriving and there was soon 70+ surfers scattered through the line up with full “all aboard” mayhem in progress.
I’ll get Ketut to edit up those photos from today as we have the baliwaves bowling classic (bi weekly event) scheduled for tonight. I’ve also got 70 odd sweet as photos from G-land thanks to the crew at the G-Land Surf Camp ready to load and will do so as soon as this lot is taken care of.
Low tide early in the morning, high tide just after lunch. Tidal ranges are starting to decrease.
Hot and sunny weather conditions but, hows this wind hey.
There’s probably a lot more I want to get into this report but what the heck it’s Saturday afternoon and we’ll be back out there again chasing the waves again tomorrow anyway. So stay tuned to Bali’s first and best Bali surf report since the late ’90’s. Special hello to Shaun, Jake & Zac down at Burleigh Heads / Australia.
For any of you that just want nothing more than a hassle free, get up and go surf perfect waves every morning (pending Huey), see and do what the hotel / resort sect don’t. Well we have some new surfing / accommodation packages that will have you at the right location at the right time everyday. All deals include your own photographer at no extra cost. I’m sure if you contacted the G-Land Surf Camp (www.g-landsurfcamp.com) they would still have the original photos.
