****LATE SURF UP DATE****
Hello everybody and thanks big time for calling back by the baliwaves.com (leading the way since 1999) to see what’s been going down surf and weather wise here on No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, BALI.
Our morning swell check here on the Outer Reefs of Tuban still had wave height showing in the waist to head high region between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean with the wind light out of the NE.
We decided on having breakfast and a lazy cuppa coffee before making the drive over to the East Coast, heading for our destination of Keramas. By the time we arrived (around 8.30AM) the tide was well and truelly on the rise and surfing conditions clean and glassy. Wave height was coming through on the main break in the waist to head high class and showing signs of pulsing through a few larger sets with the tide. There was already 8 surfers in the water by this time. While down in front of the carpark area there were also some nice tubey sized waves peeling off with no one one em.
My crew opted for the “no one on it” option and surfed car parks by themselves picking off some nice little tube rides. But as it often does, when your having fun, as my last lad was coming in he stumbled over not 3mtrs from shore. Resulting in the end of our surf session and a quick trip to my local doctor and 5 stitches in his forehead. Instead of heading to the “western doctors” which, by the way there are none of here. The total cost of his minor surgery and medication came to AU$14.00 The patient couldn’t believe how gentle and efficient my doctor was, but hey come on now, it is the year 2012 right.
As it shows in our current gallery there were some nice shaped waves and some damn good surfing going down on the Keramas main break, with Indonesia’s current No.1 champion Marlon Gerber in the water. Not too mention a hand full of his friends shredding it up as well.
Ok then stay tuned as I’ve got another Bingin photo gallery to load up and later this morning another boat load of photos arriving fresh out of the Jungle (G-Land Surf Camp) and G-Land. We might even (fingers crossed) be seeing a slight boost in wave height again on the 8th and we’ll be out shooting it up somewhere. Make sure you watch it happen on the baliwaves Surf Cam.
Travel Tips:
1/ Ok boys and girls, mums and dads, this is the most important thing you need to remember when your here in Bali. Dengue Fever is a reality and spread by mosquitoes, it’s virus so you can’t take a tablet to prevent it. Here in Bali it has no discrimination as to who will fall victim. So make sure you have insect repellent with you pretty much all the time from those early morning hours and late afternoon when mozzie’s are out looking for a feed of your blood.
2/ This one is more for the boys and girls, riding motor bikes is fun right. But having a motor cycle accident is certainly not, especially when your on holidays. If you don’t ride a bike at home and if you don’t have a license stay away from them. Lately I’ve seen so many fools gassing around on them with absolutely no idea of whats going on around them it is NOT funny. Have you ever seen a hard core cycilist riding around in bare feet, no shirt or helmet ? Why ? Falling off a bike while your doing 35kmh won’t kill you (not every time anyway), but being run over by the car behind or, on coming bloody well will ! Don’t be a tight arse, get a driver and travel in style.
For any of you that just want nothing more than a hassle free, get up and go surf perfect waves every morning (pending Huey), see and do what the hotel / resort sect don’t. Well we have some new surfing / accommodation packages that will have you at the right location at the right time everyday. All deals include your own photographer at no extra cost. Hit this info link to find out more. Limited space, so get in early or you’ll be doing it the hard way.
We also have a few “Home Stay” type rooms available for any of our viewers looking for some clean and tidy accommodation here in Tuban. all rooms are air conditioned, including breakfast for Rp225,000 per night, or Rp275,000 for couples. Plus 1 room that’s fan cooled for Rp150,00 per night. Surfers need to apply, party animals head for Kuta.
Feel free to bother us via email about your next trip to Bali and we might just be able to help make it run a little smoother for you.
Best Regards from Bali
