G-Land Surf Camp
Aug 28 at G-Land dawned a clear day with a nice 3-5ft of swell running into the bay. Some solid waves at the bottom end Kongs which was sampled by just a few guys, all reported nice walled waves going for over 100mtrs.Around the main section of The Ledge and Moneytrees where most of the visiting crew were surfing had crisp lines peeling through with about 30 odd people scattered along a wide stretch of reef.
Aug 29.We awoke to rumbling swell and quite a misty morning, very hard to judge what was happening in the lineup in the early hours.Around 7-30 when things started to clear,it revealed a solid swell of 6-8ft with occasional Bombie action.A new swell and a little unorganised and not very friendly wind, you could say “Sketchy”.Only a few takers for the morning session with some good waves ridden at Moneytrees and a rare 1 or 2 smaller ones sneaking down to The Pad. As the day progressed and the offshore wind kicked in around 11am things cleaned up and an afternoon of some solid waves at Moneytrees.Only about 15 guys testing out some juice and surfing skills were at a high.
Hoping tomorrow brings some good early winds to compliment the high tide at 8am. Stay tuned to the baliwaves.com for more reports and pics. Davey
