****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com (Bali’s first surfing website since 1999) for the latest and greatest views on today’s surfing and weather conditions from right here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
This mornings 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing a nice little bump in wave height with 2-3ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. With the tide just coming off the bottom of the Low only Middle Reef was an option for the dawny, and that’s where the bigger set waves were hitting. Surfing conditions at the time were clean and glassy with the wind coming ever so lightly out of the North.
But as you can plainly see in today’s photo gallery I blasted off we were back down on location at the wave that put this island on the surfing world map, Uluwatu. We arrived around 8.45AM to find wave height a consistent head to double head high breaking from the top of the Racetrack, the Main Peak and up at Temple’s. No shortage of surfers down there today, there was already around 50 surfers in the water when we got there and by the time we left there was close to the 100 mark. Plenty of waves that’s for sure, but way too many inexperienced surfers out there and a wonder no one was seriously hurt.
Driving home back past Impossible’s there looked to be clean lines peeling off down the reef towards Bingin in the head to head high plus region.
I also just had a quick look at our Impossible’s surf cam and there does look to be plenty of clean waves still coming through, so check it out.
The next tide today here in Bali will be another dry 0.1mtr Low just after 5.00PM.
Weather wise we’ve had another mainly hot and sunny one here on the holiday island and currently right now at 4.00PM the outside temperature is still a warm 29 degree’s Celsius, humidity at 70%. Wind direction is now coming out of the SE at 12-14knot.
Today’s G-Land surf report thanks to Davey over at the G-Land Surf Camp was calling in wave height in the head to almost double head high range with clean lines peeling off through Money Tree’s.
We’d also like to thank our good friend Barry Woodbury from the Gold Coast / Australia for bringing over 100 pairs of second hand reading glasses which we have already distributed to our traditional Balinese village (Br Bingin / Datah) plus a few pairs to a few of the old folks here in Tuban as well. Thanks again Barry !
