BALI
12th October 2012
Hello surfers and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (keeping it honest since 1999) this fine Friday afternoon for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the real “surfers paradise” tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
And as I mentioned in this mornings twitter up date, today is the day, ten years on after the merciless terrorist attack on this harmless holiday island of Bali. RIP to those poor innocent ones that were taken away from their loved ones.
Another day and another batch of surfing to get through right. We started off this morning with a surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban to find wave height still a consistent 3-4ft+ between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Clean and tidy surfing conditions with the wind light out of the North.
From here we cruised past the beach breaks of Kuta to see plenty of waves and plenty of different sections of sand with wave height in the waist to head high range and a looking pretty rippy.
Next stop was Canggu but again wave height was a just a little bit too much for all 3 main sections at Canggu. Surfing conditions were still clean with the wind pretty much blowing straight off shore. But my gut feeling was telling me to hit the east coast so that’s where we bee lined for.
As it shows in today’s photo gallery we made the run to Serangan in fine time to find wave height hitting the shelf in the head to double head high plus sector. Surfing conditions were still clean as a whistle and around 30 surfers in the water. It wasn’t until 10.30 that the wind started to shift to the South and a little on shore.
Ketut and Davey were back over on location at Keramas and the boys reckon there was some shit hot surfing going down in the OAKLEY WORLD PRO JUNIOR. Wave height in the 3-5ft range with super clean surfing conditions through the early heats. I’m just about to have a look through the boy’s photos shortly and I’ll get those loaded onto our Readers Report page ASAP
The next tide today here in Bali will be a 2.2mtr High at 8.08 tonight. We are also started to get close to the next moon phase again, being a New Moon rising on the 15th.
Weather wise out there today we started off with an overcast sky that quickly burnt off to make for a scorcher. Temperature wise right now at 2.45PM the mercury is still sitting on a steamy 31 degree’s Celsius, humidity level is at 67%. Wind direction has now swung back around to the SE and off shore between Kuta to Uluwatu.
This mornings G-Land Surf Report from the G-Land Surf Camp was calling in solid waves in the head to double head high plus class. Only 10 surfers braving the conditions with waves breaking from Money Tree’s down to the start of the Launching Pad. Contact us if you want to get over there for the end of season session and we’ll sling you a solid 15% discount off any advertised camp package.
