BALI
22nd & 23rd November 2012
Hello surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com (shaken and not stired since 1999) for the latest news and absolute best views on today’s suurfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Ok so yesterday afternoon I was going hard editing up Ketut’s photos from Canggu when all of a sudden the house starts to have a bit of a shudder and shake, nothing to radical but all the same it was a decent Earth Tremor. Next thing (like within 5 mins) I had an sms alert from the Tsunami Warning crew that advertise with us on baliwaves.com and this is the info I received from them. So if your coming to Indo or anywhere in the World for that matter I’d be signing up with these guys !!! So better to be safe than dead, I got my family in the car and we headed for high ground. (didn’t get to finish the photos until this afternoon).
Here’s how their alert read.
****** START ALERT MESSAGE ******

Now the strange and worrying thing is that there was no warnings here in Bali, nothing on the TVnews or on the radio.
Alright today we were back on location at Canggu and it was pretty well cranking on all 3 of the main breaks. Wave height was a very consistent chest to well over head high range, with even the odd clean up freak set. Crowd levels were in the medium class but backing off around 9.00AM. Clean and tidy surfing conditions, all you gotta do is look at the photos to see that, these conditions lasted through until 10.15An when the wind started to pick up out of the West.
I’ve even thrown in yesterdays photos at the end of todays.
Weather wise it’s been a mixe bad of part cloudy but mainly hot and sunny for the most of it. Right now at 4.00PM the mercury is still sitting on 29 degree’s Celsius, humitiy on 80% and the wind outta the West at 5-8knot. There’s also a big big chance of some more thunder and lightning again later this evening.

Ok crew hang in there and get ready for another big weekend of waves right here on the original Bali surf report site, baliwaves.com
Traffic up date, with all the new road and airport and building projects going on and not too mention the amount of Javenese tourists and construction workiers flowing into Bali, then add a million taxi’s on the road the traffic has been bull shit to say the least. So if your here and on the road just take your time and be patient and hopefully it will get back to normal soon.

if the earthquake is bad enough to make walking difficult then there probably will be a tsunami. if it is caused by the fault line 100km south of Bali the tsunami will hit before the warning anyway.
