BALI
23rd March 2013
Hello everyone and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves.com (The original Bali surf report since 1999) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the only sane choice for your next tropical surfing holiday, BALI.
Well what else can I say except the last two days here in bali surfwise have been micro to tiny sized surf. Surfing conditions have been absolutely perfect with light wind in the morning before the SE Tradewind kicking in.
This morning we were hoping to see just little more size in wave height so we were up early and on the road by 615.AM heading for Keramas over on the East Coast. Alas, there were already 6 surfers in the water with wave height in the knee to thigh high range. So from there we headed back South to Padang Galak, wave height here was only slightly bigger but still not worth the effort. Ok, last chance we jumped back in the car heading further South down to Bali’s premier swell magnet location of Uluwatu.
Down at Uluwatu there was the odd waist to waist high plus freak set rolling through but the learner surfers were all over it. It was around 9.30AM and there were at least 80 *surfers packed in tight and most of them riding beat up mini mals, so forget that.
Just for a quick refreasher here’s that sequence I shot down at Uluwatu last week, featuring local surfer and good friend “Gobleg”
I also called back by the Outer Reefs here in Tuban to see if the low tide “Middle’s” section was showing any potiential. There were two surfers already out there and there were a couple of waist high waves. Hopefully as the tide keeps dropping we might see a little bit more swell come in. We’ll be giving it another dawn patrol again tomorrow and hopefully I’ll have a new photo gallery on line for ya’s after we get back from the mission. I’m pretty sure you don’t want to see a photo gallery of 1-2ft waves.
The next tide today here in Bali will be a 1.9mtr High at 7.50PM.
Weather wise it’s brutally hot the last few days, currently right now the outside temperature is sitting on 32 degree’s Celsius (3.30PM). Wind direction is coming out of the SE at 12-15knot.
