Hi folks and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves.com (delivering the goods to you since 1999) for today’s run down on surfing and weather conditions from here on the only sane choice for your next tropical surfing holiday.

Well this morning there was no chance for the usual surf recon on the old Outer Reefs here in Tuban. We were up and rolling by 6.30AM and bee lining south to Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. Arriving just after 7.00AM to find wave height still gliding through in the head to well over head class.

The tide was still running out at the time and the Racetrack section was spinning out a few nice and very hollow tube rides. Only about 15 surfers in the water at first but as the tide turned and started flowing back in the so did the number of surfers turning up. The Main Peak section was also producing so solid peaks with the tide.

Weather wise it was indeed a mainly hot and sunny day, except for when ever the set waves seemed came through we had five minutes of cloud cover. Temperature wise it would have been at least 30 degree’s outta the shade. Wind direction has been E-SE since sun up and reaching gusts of up to 17knot.

Driving back home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s there were some 2-3 footers breaking down through the middle section of Impossible’s. Nothing happening at Padang Padang.

Talking about Impossible’s never fear as we do have some technical minded working at getting our Web Cam back up and running. And by the sounds of things we aren’t too ffar away.

Hey and don’t forget the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup (main event) is still on when it’s on with still plenty of waiting period time left on the clock. So hopefully we’ll get the swell and the contest will run. We’ll keep you in the loop with any news of the event.

NB: Petrol price has finally been increased here in Indonesia with a 40% hike so you can expect prices right across the board to follow suit. Being a small island everything we need comes here by truck. I would expect our beloved Bintang beer to be the first to be jacked.
