BALI
4th – 5th August 2013
Hello surfers and thanks for calling by your baliwaves.com (keeping you in the Bali loop since 1999) for the latest news and the best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the first choice tropical surfing holiday island destination of BALI.
Ok well yesterday if you would have read through some of my Twitter up dates you have had a pretty clear idea of what was happening over here. Small waves on the Outer Reefs and a howling SE off shore Tradewind, making it pretty tricky. You would also have known that while Ketut was shooting photos down at Uluwatu’s Racetrack section I was out chasing schools of Trevally and Tuna with the boys.some nice photos.
In the end Ketut got some nice photos of some surfers getting shacked outta their heads on the Racetrack and I caught some nice fish and had a heap of fun along the way. Weather wise it was cloudy and grey just about all day through.
Today the 5th and nothing has change in the wave situation here on the Outer Reefs of Tuban. At 7.00AM wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was only breaking in the waist to waist high plus region. Once the SE Tradewind has been blowing hard off shore wind all day.
A friend of mine and frequent Bali surfer sent me an email this morning around 10.00AM, he would have called but he had no phone. You see he surfed Canggu early this morning which is always the best time to get Canggu any good. But anyway after finishing his session he had found his car had been forcefully broken into and everything (absolutely everything) had been stolen, clothes and all. He had parked his car in the small parking lot in between the sandbar and the river mouth. So remember not to leave any valuable’s in the car or under the motor bike seat. This area has had a bad problem of theft for years ?
Weather wise today in Bali it’s been a carbon copy of yesterday but with a little rain thrown in for good measure. Currently right now at 4.00PM the outside temperature is sitting on 28 degree’s Celsius, Humidity level is at 70%. Wind direction is out of the ESE with gusts up to 18knot.
Hopefully we should see some new swell hitting the reefs tomorrow so stay tuned right here to the original Bali surf report since 1999, baliwaves.com.
Today’s G-Land surf report came through at 8.00AM calling wave height hitting Kongs in the shoulder to head high range with the odd bigger freak set. While MoneyTree’s was peeling off waist to shoulder head high waves. Clean off shore wind and only 3 surfers in the water at the time.
So if anyone is interested in going over to the legendary left hand wave, G-LAND of East Java contact me and baliwaves.com will hook ya’s up with a solid 10% discount.
I’ve also got a new set of photos and surf report from our long time friends at the Kandui Surf Resort located in the pristine Mentawai Island chain of Sumatra. So give me another 10 mins and I’ll have that on line for you.
