BALI
6th September 2013
Hi folks and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves.com (showing you a little bit of Bali since 1999) for the latest news and hands down best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination that has something for everyone, BALI.
Well we hope you liked our little Bingin Sunset photo gallery we loaded up for you. But it’s time for another photo gallery and today we’ve got 96 photos that we took over on the East Coast at the ever serious wave of Keramas.
Yesterday morning the 6th and our first surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height breaking in the 3-4ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left with the wind light out of the NE and a grey and overcast sky.
But with conflicting swell predictions one chart calling no inccrease in wave height which would have applied to our West Coast and the more reliable source (stormsurf) calling a definite increase in size. After rechecking the predicted swell direction I was pretty sure the East Coast was going to be pumping out some solid right handers, and that’s where we headed for. We were hoping that the size might deter some of the new to surfing crew, especially at Keramas which is not a soft wave for learners or intermediates when it’s got swell, with it’s sharp lava rock bottom.
As it shows quite clearly in this 96 strong photo gallery it was well and truelly cranking at Keramas with wave height pushing the 4-6ft++ sector. We arrived around the 7.00AM mark with the tide pushing in and a clean and light off shore wind. There were already 15 surfers in the water, but not your usual bunch of learners. We hung out until my guest broke his board in half and by that time (9.30am) there were now 26 surfers in the line up.
Weather wise as it also shows in the color-less photos was pretty well dark and overcast while we were on the East side of Bali. But back in Tuban by late morning (after the wicked traffic jam from Sanur all the way back) was turning out to be just another hot and sunny day here on the holiday island. Temperature wise the mercury would have easily punched through the low 30’s on the Celsius scale. By this time the SE Tradewind had also well and truelly kicked in.

Today the 7th and our morning surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was still showing wave height to be breaking in the 3-4ft+ range between Kuta reef and Airport Left. At 6.45AM the tide still had a long way to run in for a 2.4mtr High scheduled for 10.45AM. Wind direction was light off shore out of the ENE.
So it looks like another day of perfect waves for all the lucky boys and girls here in Bali. Stay tuned becuase without fail baliwaves.com will be back out there with the camera equipment taking you to another new location later today.
