BALI
7th – 8th – 9th Febuary 2014
Hello surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves.com the place to be if your looking for the latest news and the absolute best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination the World has on offer, BALI.
Ok so today we have a double dose of baliwaves starting off with yesterdays views from Kranking Keramas, with a couple of shots from Serangan thrown in for good measure. Then finishing off our gallery with some images from Canggu on the 7th.
But anyway yesterday the 8th and our first destination was for a quick pit stop at Serangan. Firstly I really wonder where all the entrance fee money goes to when it’s supposed to be for road maitanence and repair. The road is almost 4×4 only and they could have paved this road 10 times over with all the revenue that has been raised over the years. But anyway ours is not to wonder why, ours is only to surf or die.
Serangan had some nice waves peeling off in the 3-5ft range but still totally out of contral with the usual amount of surf schools and kooks on soft tops plumeting out of the lips. There was at least 100++ surfers in the water scattered through the peaks.
So scratching Serangan off our list we kept heading North to Keramas. Arriving on the mid tide to find some super clean waves breaking on the Main break with maybe 25 surfers in the water. We opted to ride the Car park section with slightly less surfers, maybe 15+ and that’s where the majority of photos were captured. Local surfer Pepen Hendrik was the stand out surfer hands down. There was also some nice waves breaking down at Charlies but with an already over sized crew of 15 surfers on it.
We hung out until maybe 4PM in Ngurah’s Warung, by this time the wind was more cross shore but there were still plenty of waves coming through with hardly any surfers in the water. All in all another perfect day with perfect waves going down here on the holiday island of Bali.
The last half of our photo gallery dated 7th Feb features Canggu here on Bali’s West coast. The wind was on shore early on the 7th but as it shows in the photos there were still plenty of waves coming through on the river mouth and sand bar sections.
This morning the 9th and our 6.45Am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to be still only breaking in the 1-2ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Wind direction was coming out of the NNE at 4-5knot.
Ketut has taken our crew back over to the East Coast this morning and phoned through calling wave height at CuCu’s in the 2-3ft+ range with 4 surfers in the water, but with an already on shore wind. From there they were heading back down to keramas for an eyeball. Tune in later on and we’ll have some more photos for ya’s.
We would also like to give special praise to the guys and girls from Half Way Boardriders and also to the Padma Boys and Girls who this morning were spending their time and energy to do their part for Bali by organizing a beach clean up morning. WELL DONE TO EVERYONE PARTICIPATING THIS MORNING.
I’ll be heading off island for 10 days later this evening but our man Ketut will be still keeping the show on the road and keeping us all in the loop with whats going down surf and weather wise here in Bali.
Thanks again to all of you tuning into the one and only original Bali surf report website.
