BALI
16th – 17th March 2014
Hello surfers and thanks for calling by the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report site since 1999) for the start of another surfing week and the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from right here on your favorite tropical surfing holiday island of Bali.
Ok so there was still plenty of waves happening all over Bali on the weekend and we were over at Keramas with our crew. As it shows in this current photo gallery wave height was a consistent waist to head high with the occasional bigger set wave on the main break. surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the wind light and variable. Crowd wise ot was ranging from 12 surfers when we first arrived peaking of 26 and when we were leaving only 5 surfers left in the water.
Yesterday the 16th and my guys opted for a lazy Sunday session out on Airport Left and I got to hang out at home with my family, so everyone was happy. Not too mention we had a massive seafood BBQ here at Home Base on Saturday night and quite a few Bintangs went down all round.
This morning the 17th and our 6.45Am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height at waist to head high and a slightly over head set wave on Middle Reef. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy at the time.
Ketut has taken our crew up to Canggu earlier this morning and has reported back calling in wave height in the chest to over head range with clean surfing conditions. So we’ll have more photos to show ya’s all again later this evening.
Our man on the East Coast at Keramas phoned through at 7.15 calling in wave height on the main break at 1-3ft with clean and glassy surfing condition. At the time there were 20 surfers on the main break, 6 on the car park section and another half a dozen down at Charlies.
Mul from Ego Surf Photography has also dropped us off another batch of photos that he shot down on the mechanical waves at picturesque Bingin beach. I’ll get those ones on line along with another Mentawai photo / surf report from the Kandui Surf Resort when I get back from the hospital after lunch. Time for another set of X-Ray’s to make sure my broken finger is in position.
Weather wise out there this morning it’s a moainly overcast type of day out there so far but we should see some sunshine at some point in time. Temperature wise the mercury is currently sitting on 27 degree’s Celsius at 9.15AM. Wind is light and variable.
The next tide today will be a solid 2.4mtr High around the 10.30AM mark.
Changing dollars to Rupiah; You’ll find the Aussie dollar still around the Rp10,200. mark and the US buck around Rp11,350. give or take a few Rupiah
