Ok so today’s photo gallery is giving you a pretty good idea of just how good it was down at Uluwatu late yesterday afternoon. Smoking barrels freighting training through the low tide section called the Racetrack.
This morning the 27th and I think everyone was hoping to see some solid waves breaking where ever they might have been this morning. But our 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was still only showing 2-4ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The off shore Trade wind was already blowing hard out of the SE and the tide running in.
Ten minutes later and I was on the road with my wife and kids heading to our family village up in the foot hills of Mt Agung. So I’ve been out of the surf game today. But our man Ketut Pica waited patiently for the tide to peak and then run down before bee lining straight to Padang Padang. By this time the new swell had well and truely kicked in and the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup Trials have been ON. Ketut called through a while ago from there calling wave height at 5-6ft+ and barreling, with the final almost set to hit the water.
We’ll have the full run down on the comp for ya’s and a tonne of photos guaranteed on line for ya’s tomorrow.
Alright then, plenty of waves for us coming over the weekend and into next week. Some super high dollar exchange rates, warm weather and water so what are ya’s waiting for ? get those tickets to Bali locked in ASAP.
