BALI
18th July 2014
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com (working through the weekends since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the always in season tropical surfing holiday island of Bali.
Our 7.15AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing plenty of swell in the head to double head high class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. With the tide still running out and the wind on shore out of the NNW surfing conditions were not too good. So we scooted over to the East side of Bali just as the tide was starting to run back in to find wave height in the 2-4ft range and 8 surfers in the water. But as the tide kept filling in the set waves kept getting bigger and before long there was the odd 6ft freak set. Surfing conditions were clean as a whistle with a light off shore before the wind slowly switched to the SSW. Stand out Balinese barrel rider had to be Made “Bol” Putra with some super deep backside barrels.
Weather wise as it shows in the low light photos was as dull and overcast as possible with out raining, that happened on the drive back home.
This morning the 19th and my surf recon on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to have backed off a notch or two with 2-4ft waves between Kuta Reef and Airports. The tide was still running down for a 0.9mtr Low at 9.15AM and the wind light out of the North at 7.30AM.
Go the blue rider!
The sequence where he goes the section and busts through the curtain….>>>> = HOT surfing!
Nice work!!!
