2nd – 3rd July 2014
Hi folks and welcome back to the baliwaves (since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the place where we’d rather be, Bali.
Here we go again and how’s this current basket of photos we shot down at Uluwatu yesterday the 2nd. We put in around 5 hours down there and it was pretty well cranking the whole time with consistent 3-5 footers. The Main Peak through to the top of the Racetrack was delivering some powerful waves and grinding barrels with around 40 surfers spread through it. While further down at Temple’s there were ruler edged freight trains pouring through with a dozen or so riders.
This morning the 3rd and I was up early hoping for the SE Tradewind to have settled down after been blowing hard for the last 4 days or so and maybe offer us some other location options. But nope the Tradey was blowing all night and still gusting 8-12knot at first light. Our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing wave height in the wiast to head high plus sector between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Middle Reef had the best waves on the lower end of the tide and Airport Left had a few on the top end but with plenty of wind chop to spare.
Ketut is going to take a run down to the Racetrack later this afternoon to catch the afternoon low tide / sun set combination. So we should have some more good stuff for ya’s to check out tomorrow.
Weather wise today (2.40PM) the outside temperature is on 28 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is on 70%. Plenty of sunny breaks through the morning with more cloud starting to move in this afternoon. Wind is SE at 12 – 15knot+
