BALI
19th – 20th August 2014
Hello surfers and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves.com (The original Bali surf report website since 1999) for the latest news and best views from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination.
Ok so yesterday morning the 19th our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was still only showing wave height in the 1-2ft range with the odd head high freak set hitting Middle Reef. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the wind light out of the East.
So I had Ketut and Made take a run down to the southern end of the island to the bukit (Bukit = hill). As it shows in today’s 50+ photogallery the boys’s started off at Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu where the waves had a lot more power and push. Coming through in the chest to head high sector and slightly over head bigger freak sets hitting the Main Peak and Racetrack section sections. There were around 40 surfers scattered through the line up at the time.
From there the boys had a quick stop off on the bridge over Padang Padang but there was no chance of anything breaking there in these conditions. Then continuing down to “Suara Ombak” bungalows located over looking Bingin and Impossibles for some classic scenic views of those two waves. As it shows Impossibles had a few but fickle 2-2ft+ waves every now and again and Bingin was also in the waist to chest high range with a couple of head high freakies.
Weather wise it was another classic Bali holiday type day over here, mainly blue all day with a top temperature of 30 degree’s Celsius. So for anyone down South you know where to come if that freezing cold and rainy weather is getting you down, Bali right !
Today the 20th and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing as expected a nice little spike in wave height. There were waves in the waist to head high class breaking on Kuta Reef and Airport Left, while Middle Reef had chest to over head high waves. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with just a breath of off shore Easterly wind on it.
Ketut is already up on location at Canggu this morning and has phoned through calling in wave height at chest to over head high on all 3 of the main sections in that area. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy at the time (until the Trade wind kicks in) and as usual there were 40 surfers already on the right hander, 20 surfers on the left hand sand bar and another 20 surfers out on the “Echo” left hander.
So we will have another new batch of surfing shots to sort through for you when Ketut gets back to home base, stay tuned to the one and only baliwaves.
Weather wise out there this morning there’s pretty well nothing but blue sky in all directions and right now at 8.00AM the temperature is already a warm 26 degree’s Celsius, Humidity level is at 81%. Wind direction is now coming out of the East at 4-7knot.
Swell Prediction for the next 7 days is looking pretty good with small but fun sized waves between now at Friday. Some time Saturday we will see a very solid swell slamming into Bali that will peak through the early hours of Sunday morning then slowly taper off till Tuesday. Then bam Wednesday will be delivering another solid swell riding in on the back of the last. So get ready for Bali at it’s best.
