Hello everyone and welcome back to the baliwaves ( delivering the goods to you since back in 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination callened Bali.
Ok so as I’m sure you all know by now the last few days it’s been pretty well microscopic on the wave front here in Bali. Today was no different and our 6.00AM surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban (pre fishing tourno) wasn’t showing any waves breaking. We were trolling lures all the way up past Canggu and past Tabanan and there was only a ripple going under the boat up there as well.
Ketut even took the camera equipment over to Nusa Dua to see if there was anything happening. And as it shows I guess if you were desperate enough you could have found yourself a waist to waist high plus wave.
But the high light of today for us surfer / fishermen was our annual Pantai Jerman sport fishing tournament. There was around 50 traditional boats in this years tourno with the event running from Uluwatu to up past Tabanan with a free for all combination of trolling, casting, jigging & bait fishing. There was a lot of nice fish caught today and plenty of action on all fronts. I’ll write it up with a little more details later on as now I have to get ready for the presentation and dinner / drinks with the crew. I will say this though, if the hooks had not of pulled out of the 40 – 50kg GT I had on the end of my trolling rod my team would have been grinners.
A big thanks to our event organizer Mr Made Budhi for pulling off another fantastic fishing tournament.
Weather wise it’s been hot and humid especially if you were out in an open boat for 7hrs today.
Thanks again friends and we hope your having just as good a weekend, even if your not here in Bali.
I’d also like to give a special welcome aboard to our friends at Quiksilver Indonesia for teaming up with baliwaves in 2014 and 2015. So hit their link and check out what they have got going on.
