Firstly seeing as though we are getting very close to the end of another year and pretty soon if not already many of you are going to be out of office etc and shutting down for the holiday period (wouldn’t that be nice..)
So all of us (Troy, Ketut & Slim) would like to wish each and everyone of you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A BETTER THAN USUAL NEW YEAR !!
And we do expect to see you all over here in Bali in 2015 ok !

Alrighty then, the last couple of days Slim has been on a fishing binge here in Bali. I just couldn’t take it any longer hearing all my fishing mates bragging and telling me how good the Sport Fishing scene has been the last week. So that’s where Slim has been out at sea from sun up till just before sun down, and I have the sun burn and fish in the freezer to prove it.

Actually yesterday as I pushed my boat out past Kuta Reef it was obvious that the wind had some Easterly in it and pretty close to be blowing off shore. As the day went on it gradually turned into a typical “Dry Season” kinda day with a howling SE Tradewind, blowing off shore wind from Kuta beach all the ay down to Uluwatu. It was a pity though that there was only 1-2ft of swell on the Outers, but there were a few fun looking little waves breaking with only a couple of surfers in the water by late afternoon.

This mornings 6.45AM surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was again showing some clean and fun looking little waves in the 2-2ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left / Right. Surfing conditions at the time were clean and glassy with the wind still light out of the N-NE and tide on the run in.

So as it shows in today’s 48 strong photo gallery we have loaded up for ya’s, I had Ketut take a run up the coast a little ways to see what was happening at Canggu. Seeing as though the conditions seemed perfect for this break. And as you can see there were some perfect waves breaking on all 3 of the main breaks at Canggu.

Bali in late December is one of the best times to be here I reckon. Seeing as though it’s so close to Christmas most of the ex pats go home along with everyone else spending Christmas in their home countries. So if there are waves you can count on it being un crowded. Today was a good example with only 15 surfers on the right hander and 10 on the sandbar, plus maybe another 5 on Echo lefts. Ketut was saying it didn’t look crowded as usual further down the coast on No Mans’s and Batu Bolong.

Weather wise here on the Island of the God’s our day started off cloudy and overcast but that soon cleared away for just another hot and sunny day in Bali terms. Currently right now at 3.15PM the temperature is still a warm 30 degree’s Celsius, with the Humidity on 79%. Wind direction is coming out the East @ 6-9knot. Yesterday the 21st also saw a New or “Dark” Moon rising so expect larger tiday differences over the next few days.

The next tide today here in Bali will be a 0.5mtr Low around 4.00PM.
