Hi everyone and welcome back to the baliwaves (keeping you in touch with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination.

Yesterday morning the 28th and my crew was up and on the road before dawn heading for the East Coast of Bali. Arriving at our destination of Keramas hoping to find some nice waves and a manageable crowd around 6.40AM. At first wave height was a fun sized waist to head high with a slightly bigger freak set and the wind blowing clean off shore. There were already 15 surfers in the water but, at the time there appeared to be plenty of waves coming through. We were straight out there and it was pure pleasure just to be in the tropical water just after sun up. But as the tide started to run out Keramas pretty well stopped breaking over 1ft with a now 2ft freak set.

Weather wise another perfect day, mostly blue sky and loads of sunshine.

This morning the 29th and right now at 5.20AM we are just getting the boards on the rood now and will soon be back out there on the wave hunt. So stay tuned to the baliwaves via our social media.

Today also see’s the start of the Uluwatu Boardriders Challenge going down at Indonesia’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. So if you havn’t got anything planned for today head down that way and check it out.

Travel Tip; I’ve seen a lot of airline damaged surf boards this year coming from all points of the globe, and that’s the last thing you want to find when you un pack your boards. So make sure you pack them up nice and secure cause those airlines don’t give a shit about your shooters.

ATTENTION; The Uluwatu Boardriders Challenge will be kicking off again this month on the 29th to 31st. This surfing contest is open to any surfers wanting to surf in the Open or Masters category and is going to be fun fun fun while it’s on.
