BALI / INDONESIA
17th – 18th July 2015
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (Bali’s original surf report website since back in 1999) and welcome to the weekend for our latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the only sane choice for your next tropical surfing holiday, Bali.
Ok here we go with another 50 high end photos for ya’s to check out and mind surf. The bulk of this gallery was shot down at Uluwatu this morning but there also a couple through in from a small and very windy Canggu yesterday the 17th as well, plus a couple of frames from our very own WEB CAM over looking Impossibles.
Our first surf check on the Outer reefs of Tuban went down at 6.45AM and at the time wave height was still only showing in the 1-3ft class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were still do able with the SE Trade wind just starting to wind back up again, around 8-12knot.
From there we dropped into Balangan for a quick surf check at 9.00AM but wave height was still only in the 2-3ft class and the off shore wind was blowing hard. The numbers were perfect with only 12 surfers in the water.
So we pressed further South down to Uluwatu where we knew we couldn’t go wrong swell wise. Arriving to see a couple of solid 4-5ft+ sets screaming through on the Main Peak and Temple sections, the wind was also pretty strong off shore here but a touch more sheltered by the cliffs. I was a little bit surprised to find maybe 100 surfers already in the water spread between Temples to the Main Peak. Quite a few near misses and a couple of direct hits went down with a temper or two flaring.
Weather wise today it was warm and sunny and even better if you could get yourself out of this wind that has been blowing with force for the last week or so. But hey at least it is blowing off shore right.
Ok it’s just gone Bintang o’clock for me here in Bali (5.15PM) so I hope ya’s all have a top weekend and we hope to see ya’s call back in again tomorrow cause we’ll be out for the Sunday Sess for sure.
