BALI / INDONESIA
6th August 2015
Hi folks and thanks for calling into the baliwaves (keeping you close to Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the real surfers paradise of Bali.
Ok so this mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was kinda showing wave height around the same as yesterdays, maybe chest high at best between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was low at the time so Middle Reef was the best and there were at least half a dozen surfers already in the water. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with only just a light ENE breath of wind.
So I thought I’d take another run back down to Indonesia’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. Especially seeing as though yesterday the low tide Racetrack section was pumping. Today was no different and right on the turn of the tide we had a nice little pulse of waves. As it shows in this photo gallery (55 photos) surfing conditions were perfect and most of the waves bending down through the Track were also perfect.
Weather wise down on the bukit this morning it was amazingly mostly hot and sunny between the set waves and typically overcast when the sets did come through. The SE Trade wind did keep building in strength all morning with peaks up to 15knot.
Hey and don’t forget coming up on the 13th to 16th of August the Quiksilver Uluwatu Challenge is back on in QS format. So make sure your down at Uluwatu to watch Indonesia’s best take on a big International feild, Not too mention all the other events that will be happening through The Big Eco Weekend.
Denpasar International Airport is actually closed again at the moment due to levels of volcanic ash in the 6km high region. Lets hope it clears up, I do hear Garuda and Air Asia are still flying in when the conditions change and windows open.

denpasar airport is closed? The reason Garuda and Air Asia can fly is they are based in Indonesia. They can leave in windows when its safe
Planes from other countries have to divert or turn around and that is pointless.
Ah well that explains why planes are still taking off and landing
