BALI / INDONESIA
1st – 2nd October 2015
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves (keeping you amped up for your next Indo surf trip since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Yesterday the 1st of Rocktober our first surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was only showing 1 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left with a light ENE wind. And even if there were waves you would have had to walk / paddle out to there with a super 0.0mtr morning low tide.
So we hung out a little while longer at home and then slowly made our way down to the southern end of the island to Bali’s premier surfing arena and swell magnet, Uluwatu. Arriving at 8.45AM to find wave height pretty small in the waist to head high range. But with the tide filling in we were also hoping for little pulse. Crowd wise I was surprised that there were only 4 surfers in the water. We were lucky enough to get some head high waves and if it’s that small at Ulu then there’s not too much happening anywhere in Indo I guess.
Weather wise it was just your usual hot and sunny day in Bali.
Today the 2nd and our surf recon on the Outer’s of Tuban was again showing another dry reef exposing early morning low tide. Wave wise it was only just lapping onto the reef in the half to 1 foot class.
Ketut has taken on the mission of getting our crew up to Balian this morning. Hitting the road around 5AM and has called in calling wave height in the waist to chest high range with an occasional head high set. Surfing conditions were clean with a light off shore wind at the time.
It looks like some time Saturday is the call for our new swell
Weather wise this morning here in Tuban there’s nothing but blue sky. Temperature wise right now at 10.00AM the mercury is sitting on 27 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 89%. Wind direction is coming out of the East at 6-12knot and will probably get stronger through out the day.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Bali, — 1US$=14,545 — 1AU$=Rp10,200 — Rates will vary and make sure you stay away from the unscrupulous money changers that offer higher than normal exchange rates.
