BALI / INDONESIA
9th – 10th November 2015
Hi surfers and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (keeping you linked in to Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the only sane choice for your next tropical surfing holiday, Bali.
Ok so yesterday the 9th the morning started out with no wind which meant clean and glassy waves all over the island (It also signaled to me some great fishing conditions on offer). So with our 6.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs showing wave height in the 2-4ft class the boys thought they would sneak down to Balangan for a surf check and hopefully score some early morning un crowded waves. As it shows in the first section of today’s 50 strong photo gallery there were some fun waves to be had at Balangan but the wind did start to kick in by 9.30AM and start varying to all points of the compass.
I also had a pretty good view of the action from Kuta Reef all the way down to Uluwatu while I was out hunting Spanish Macks in our 8mtr traditional Balinese double outrigger boat.
Today the 10th and again this morning was pretty much the same as yesterday with hardly any wind at all showing. So we decided to head for Canggu. Normally that’s around a 45 min drive from here in Tuban, not today. With all the road work going on it took us a good 1.5hrs to get there and while we were in transit we saw the wind start to dedicate to the South and slowly get stronger and stronger. As it shows in the last 20 or so photos the wind was on shore at Canggu but we needed to get wet after the traffic kaos. It seems anywhere there is a perfectly good road someone wants to tear it up and lay a new pipe, cable or resurface it. I feel sorry for any commuters in the Canggu area at the moment.
Weather wise it’s been a mainly overcast type of day here in Bali. Even so it has been warm with the midday temperature in the low 30’s on the Celsius scale. We even had a few drops of rain this morning where we were. Right now at 4.20PM the afternoon sky is looking ready to drop a few more drops and the start of our wet season just around the corner.
