BALI / INDONESIA
6th – 7th January 2016
Hello surfers and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves (Keeping you amped up for your next Indo surf trip since back in 1999) for our latest news and some hard to beat views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so like I said in yesterdays surf report Ketut was down at Bali’s premier surfing location yesterday and as the tide started to run out the low tide Racetrack section started to do it’s thing. So check out today’s photo gallery and check it out for yourselves. Even though the wind was blowing cross on shore on the Main Peak and Temple sections it was clean and glassy down along the Track.
Today the 7th and I’ve had to take another day at home to help get back on top of my “things that need to be done” type list. But I did get our man Ketut to take a run up the West Coast to see what was happening at Funggu. I haven’t had time to go through his photos but he reckons it was pretty good in the morning before the Southerly kicked in. Ketut was calling 3-4 footers with clean off shore wind but pretty busy on the 3 main sections up there.
Weather wise it’s been a mostly hot and sunny day with a little more cloud present than what we have seen over the last week. I’ve been saying this perfect January weather won’t hold out much longer and we will soon be back at the mercy of wet season weather patterns. This has happened every year for the last 20 wet seasons I been here through. We can always expect a short burst of dry season weather through January lasting anytime for a few days to a couple of weeks. We have just seen maybe 8 days or so of it this January and now it’s just about done.
Outside right now at 4.30PM the temperature is on 34 degree’s Celsius, Humidity level is at 73%. Wind direction coming out of the S-SSW at 6-10knot.

While I’m still here I better remind you new crew that’ll be coming to Bali about sun protection while your out surfing. Especially if your fair skinned and not used to the harsh tropical sun. Keep that sun screen and zinc cream on thick and don’t stay out in the water for too long until you start to get some color. I’ve seen some terrible sun burned victims of late that have really no one to blame but there silly selves.
And while your at it make sure you drink at least a couple of liters of water everyday, that’s at least. So skip the soft drink and have a bottle of water and you’ll really be doing yourself a favor.
