BALI / INDONESIA
28th – 29th February 2016
Hi surfers and welcomback to the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali’s surfing scene since back in 1999) for the start of a brand new surf week here on the best value for tropical surfing holiday dollar destination of Bali.
Ok right off the bat here are 76 new photos that we blasted off yesterday here on Bali’s West side. As it shows the waves were pretty good in the chest to well over head class with an early morning off shore wind that later around mid to late morning then dedicated to the W- WSW. As usual at this place the crowds can get pretty gnarly and there has been know to be some hot heads in the water but if you get there early enough as we did everything is roses.
Weather wise it was just another mainly hot and sunny day here on the holiday island of Bali, well for sure here on the West coast anyway.
Today the 29th and we were up early and back on the road heading to one of my favorite surfing destinations. If you were tuned into our Twitter and instagram feeds you would already know where we were. Wave height up the coast was in the 2-4ft range with super clean and glassy conditions for the first couple of hours before the wind shifted to the WSW again. The best thing about it today was that we were taking turns and sharing the waves between 4 of us for the first couple of hours. My arms are aching good from all the 100 – 200yrd paddle outs after each wave.
Weather wise another hot and sunny day here on the West side but right now at 5.05PM it’s just starting to rain, which is helping to cool us down after a hot day in the surf and sun.
Tomorrow I can’t give away where we will be surfing just yet but rest assured my friends we will be surfing. So stay tuned to the original Bali surf report website and remember there is only one original baliwaves ok.
I hear there has been some severe travel warnings for Bali of late, this usually happens every year around this time of the year. The time of the year when Aussies start planning their winter get away to Bali. I’ve heard warnings on just about everything from terrorist alerts, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, mud slides, spiked drinks, theft, corruption, Dengue fever and Bali belly. If anyone wants somewhere safe, surf orientated and quite to stay here in Bali just contact me.
G’day Slim,
How it going? Looking at coming over 3-8 May will you have space?
