Hi folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.

So after we had done our surf check on the Outer reefs of Tuban yesterday we decided on taking a short run up the coast and see if we could find some waves. It wasn’t until around 9.00AM that we pulled into the car park so I was stoked to still find 2-4ft waves with clean and glassy surfing conditions. There were plenty of waves hitting Echo reef and the Sandbar sections, with the river mouth rights by far producing the better waves at Canggu.

At the same time the single fin / long boarder crew had been holding their annual gathering on the right hander and yesterday was the finals. I have to admit there was no shortage of style and soul in the few heats that  I saw. I didn’t see any old surfers in the water while I was there but hopefully next event it could be on. The waves were pumping through barrel ride after barrel ride on the river mouth section while the sand bar was just a little bit too fat on the lower end of the tide (1.0mtr).

Weather wise there was some cloud cover from time to time, with the sun making it’s appearance by 10.00AM. That was also about the time that the wind started to swing to the ESE.

This mornings (30th) surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing wave height breaking in the 2-4ft+ between Kuta Reef and Airport Left / Right. The tide was still running down for a 1.0mtr Low around 10.30AM so all sections were breaking nicely. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the wind light and variable.

Weather wise outside this morning there was light cloud cover but that is starting to burn off now at 8.45AM, The mercury is already sitting on 28 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity level at 83%. The wind is just starting to come out of the East at 2-4knot but will surely increase in strength through out the morning.

I’ve got a tough choice now this morning, I can either jump in the boat and go fishing with the boys as the Spaniards and Wahoo have been going crazy the last few days or should I just go for a paddle on the Outer Reefs with an old friend.
