BALI / INDONESIA
21st – 22nd May 2016
Hi surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (delivering a little bit of Bali to you since back in 1999) for the start of another surfing week. Not too mention the latest news and the best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Ok so it’s been nothing short of surf surf surf here on the island of the Gods. Lets kick off with another brand photo gallery with 83 photos that we shot here on Bali’s West Coast on Saturday. We started off at Canggu and that’s where the bulk of the photos were shot. You should be able to tell by looking at the photos as we have just loaded them in the order that they were captured.
Wave height at Canggu was almost maxing out in the 3-5ft class with some clean up set waves. The river mouth right was crowded as usual but there were some nice lefts coming through on the sand bar section between the set waves. Surfing conditions were clean with the wind coming out of the ENE before swinging to the SE around 10.00AM and on shore at Canggu.
From there we made a stop in at Padma st at legian for a possible second session. And as it shows in the photos it was cranking at Padma so we were out there and into it. It’s always a pleasure to come to this place and find friendly locals without the zombie factor.
Yesterday the 22nd and we up long before the sparrows and on our way up the West Coast to take on the long left handers at Medewi. Arriving just after to sun rise to see wave height peeling off in the 3-4ft class and a light off shore NE wind. But to our surfprise there was probably the biggest crowd of *surfers in the water I have ever seen at this place with maybe 40 in total. Not really a problem for this line up but just like in the “Walking Dead” no place is now safe from zombies. Just a reminder, zombies are surfers who are to arrogant to say hello or be friendly. So don’t be a zombie it’s free to say hello right.
Weather wise it’s just been another average hot and sunny weekend here in Bali.
This morning the 23rd and our 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing wave height in the 3-4ft class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left / Right. No wind at the time but you know it will be coming out of the SE before too long and the tide is running in for a solid 2.5mtr High at 10.30AM.
And as soon as this is online we are heading out to find some more waves. So stick around and stay tuned to the original Bali surf report for more up dates and info through the morning.
