This mornings 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was still showing wave height to be in the 2-4ft class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was still a touch low at the time for Kuta Reef or Airports, but Middle Reef was looking good. Wind direction at the time was light out of the ENE.

But as it shows in today’s 60 strong photo gallery we headed back to where we knew it would be cranking, Canggu. Canggu loves that early morning variable wind and when wave height is in the 2-4ft+ range, any bigger and it gets to shifty and too much water moving around. But not today folks, no, it was doing it’s thing on the river mouth right hander. There were also a couple of sneaky lefts hitting the sandbar as well.

Another end of an era at Canggu with the road closed that runs to the sandbar and allows you to park practically on the beach or right behind your favorite (new) warung. With the construction of another hotel / club going up right on the beach in front of the sandbar, just what we need. Now everyone is required to park in the main echo beach area (enough car spaces for maybe 15 – 20). Beach access is quickly becoming extinct here in Bali as we also just more beach access and parking area on the beach here in Tuban right in front of the Outer Reefs. Beach access is what probably at least 30% of the tourists that come to Bali want. The odd family park / play area wouldn’t go to waste either..

Weather wise today it’s been perfect Sunday weather with just blue sky and sunshine with the top temperature somewhere close to the 32 degree Celsius mark.
