BALI / INDONESIA
18th – 19th November 2016
Hello friends and thanks for tuning again into the baliwaves. Hey and how about showing some love and take a look at the flashing banner over to the right of this. We are hoping to raise some cash so we can get some new camera equipment and helping you save some money at the same time. We’ve been doing our part here at baliwaves since ’99 bringing you a little bit of Bali each day, so show some love if you can.
Well with just 9 days to go of this 8 week campaign left to run we have managed to scrape up just over AU$950.00 from our target of AU$6,000.00 I’d like to give the 17 people out of our average 100,000 viewers per month who did show some love a huge thank you.
Alrighty all you Bali lovers here’s some of Ketut’s photos that we collected down at Ulu yesterday through the low tide on the infamous Racetrack section. Round round round and shallow, where these guys are pulling into the pit it is only maybe 3-5ft deep at best and even more shallow a few yards in front of them. So don’t go near these waves if your still getting pushed in ok or on a soft top. The track was cranking yesterday morning and there were only a handful of surfers out there, unfortunately no locals out either at the time.
Not just Uluwatu was cranking again yesterday but pretty well everywhere here on the West Coast was on fire, Balangan, Bingin, Impossible’s but way too small for Padang Padang. Here in Tuban the Outer Reefs were also delivering the goods from Airport Righ right across to Kuta Reef.
This morning the 19th started off nicely with our 6.30AM surf check on the Outer reefs still showing 3-4 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. You can’t see Airport Right from the north side of the runway but I’m sure as the tide rolls in some there will be some classy right handers going down. In my opinion the Right is a way better wave than Keramas and only second to Sanur Reef.
Ok from there everything was still going fine until I tried to turn on my main computer and nothing happened. Just when you think your getting back on top of everything and BAM something else goes wrong. So now I’m off to Denpasar to see if I can salvage my hard drives and get a new CPU. Lucky my 8yr old Toshiba Lappy is still going so I could get this online for ya’s.
Have a good one and stay tuned for more news and up dates through out the day via our Twitter and Instagram feed on baliwaves.
Weather wise we have a partly sunny morning and light ESE wind happening, waves everywhere but Denpasar for Ketut and I….
If you are looking for a quiet place to stay near some of Bali’s best waves, with a resident surf guide and yoga instructor at the resort, S Resorts Hidden Valley is a great choice.
