BALI / INDONESIA
2nd September 2017
Hello surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Alright and welcome to the weekend here with us and to kick it off here is a solid little photo gallery that we shot over on Bali’s East coast yesterday the 1st of September. On arrival there were some nice sized over head set waves coupled with clean and glassy early morning conditions that Keramas is well know for. Crowd wise it wasn’t too bad with only 20 – 25 surfers in the water, which is around about as much as this wave can handle before it is saturated and things start getting a little ugly. It wasn’t until around 10.00AM that the SE Tradewind started to kick in taking the shine off the waves blowing pretty much straight on shore.
I also couldn’t help but notice the bulldozer tracks on the beach where someone has changed the directional flow of the river once again so I’m sure we will see a lot more sand being washed out onto the rock ledge, good or bad, we will see. I also don’t know how things are going to be in this area in a few more years when the two new resorts ear marked for right in front of the break open up.
Today the 2nd and we hit the road at a reasonable time around 6.30AM to surf up the coast a little ways here on Bali’s West Coast. On arrival surfing conditions were perfect with a light off shore ENE wind and 2-4ft waves breaking both left and right. I surfed the right hander and it was a little bit busy but there were still some nice one’s to be had.
Weather wise it’s been a mostly hot and sunny 50+ type of day here on the holiday island.

Another important issue for the locals here in Bali especially with winter going down in the Southern Hemisphere and the season for super flu in Australia. Please don’t bring flu’s and virus strains with you on holidays. Make sure you get to the Doctor first before getting on the plane and infecting all the passengers and then maybe infecting everyone you come in contact with here in Bali. You wouldn’t go to work with the Flu so don’t bring it to Bali please.
