BALI SURF REPORT, West Coast Bali 4th – 5th October 2017

Hi folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (Bali’s original surf report website since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.

Mt Agung up date, nothing has change that I’ve heard of in the last 24hrs, Ketut is back up their for a couple more days so as soon as I get hold of him I’mm post any info on site via our Twitter feed over down on the right side of the page.

Surf wise here’s a few photos that we shot yesterday here on the West Coast of Bali. Wave height was in the 2-4ft class (chest to well over head) with both left and right options. Surfing conditions were good through until 7.30AM, when the SE Trade Wind kicked in pretty hard. Lucky that we were there and in the water around 6.30AM. Crowd wise the rights were busy as usual and not too bad on the lefts.

Weather wise it was a mainly over cast morning but we were lucky to see a few patches of blue sky through out the morning.

Today the 5th and our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was not looking to hot. Wave height was only in the 1-2ft range with maybe a slightly bigger set wave hitting Middle Reef. Surfing conditions were already clean with the wind light out of the ESE at the time.

Weather right now at 12.00noon the temperature is on 30 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 75%. Wind direction is coming out of the SE at 12-17knot.

Ok crew have a good one today and we’ll be back out there on the wave hunt tomorrow so make sure you keep an eye on the (one and only) baliwaves.

It’s pretty obvious out on the streets that Bali has lost a lot of Western tourism from the possible volcano eruption. But now it’s so damned obvious that the main reason that there is any traffic jams is the amount of empty taxi’s driving around at 15kms/ph.
I’d also have to admit that the lunch time / afternoon traffic down on the bukit (southern end of the island) is now worse than it is in Seminyak.
