BALI / INDONESIA
30th April 2018
Hello people and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (the surfers Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for our daily dose of surf and weather info from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so as you may have guessed from some of the photos that are lacking in natural sun light we were up way before the sun and on our way looking for perfect waves. We pulled into our primary location full of anticipation knowing that the wind was light off shore and a new swell should be hitting the coast. As it shows we were a little better than lucky scoring some perfect waves in the head to well over double head high and only a handful of surfers in the water. There was only two when we paddled out and for the better part of our session we were taking turns.
Hopefully the gate will be still open tomorrow, but I’ve a gut feeling it will be locked to public access. There was still a few warungs left standing along the sandy beach but according to our local friends there were scheduled to be knocked down late this afternoon or tomorrow. Another beach full of local character and surf culture gone to hungry developers that won’t be giving a rats about surfers in their future plans.
Weather wise again today it’s been another perfect beach day with a midday temperature of 32 degree’s Celsius. Early morning we had a light NW wind that held off until the ESE Tradewind kicked around 10.00AM.
Tomorrow it looks like we should still have some waves happening around the island, but dropping off a touch as the tide fills in late morning. So stay tuned to the baliwaves
We also have a Full Moon rising tonight so get ready for more big range tidal differences over the next few days.
Real shame the gates will be closing and displacing the locals again, sad day. Good to see Huey throwing up some swell to send it off.
Dennis
Hopefully at least the gate will still be open Dennis, but I don’t think anyone really knows exactly what the new owners have planned
Surely they would let u drive in still. I know guys come from sanur and benoa by boats..God help us if that is the way..
I’ll ask Tommy … tell him to keep the gate open
