BALI / INDONESIA
20th – 21st April 2018
Hi folks and welcome back to the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali’s surfing scene since back in 1999) for lour latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Alright then here’s yet another fresh batch of photos from where we were surfing at yesterday the 20th. As it shows the waves were in the chest to over head class with clean and glassy surfing conditions for the early risers. There was only 4 other surfers in the water when we paddled out and maybe 25 by the time we paddled back to the beach. Perfect conditions for surfing in board shorts and bikini’s with nothing but blue sky above us.
This morning the 21st and with an expected puls to start showing today we could resist going back for another look at Serangan. Arriving here at 7.30AM to find no surfers in sight and some very consistant head to well over head high waves peeling off. Clean and glassy conditions with the wind still light and variable.
I did the right thing… and let my two friends paddle out and go wave for wave while I got this report on line. Right now at 8.50AM the wind is slowing starting to swing to the East but it’s still pretty glassy out there. The waves seemed to have backed off some compared to an hour ago. That would be right seeing as though I’m just about ready to get out there.
Just a heads up on the situation here at Serangan, I wasn’t sure wether or not the road into the beach would be open or not this morning as they have piled up tonnes of rock and dirt in position ready to close off public access. No one knows when it will be closed or when it will be re opened for public beach access again. I first found the waves here around 22 years ago when developers were first creating this man made island, so now it’s going full circle again. Very sad to see all my local friends evicted from the friendly warungs dotted along the beach after 20years of serving cold drinks and food to all the surfers that have found their way to Serangan.
Weather wise today in Bali it’s just another hot and sunny day for all the lucky people here on vacation.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 2.2mtr High at 1.12PM
Anytime in the next 24hrs we should see some real swell banging into Bali and all of Indonesia for that matter. So keep an eye on the original Bali surf report website cause we’ll have you covered.
