BALI / Indonesia
18th – 19th June 2018
Hello again everyone and welcome back to the baliwaves (keeping our finger on the pulse here in Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions. From right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so our current photo gallery takes us back to Canggu to start off the week here in Bali. With perfect early morning conditions we knew there would be some nice waves and as always plenty of super hot local surfers to provide the action. And as it shows that’s exactly what went down. We were lucky to find wave height in the 2-4ft range with a light off shore wind that lasted through until we packed up at 10.30AM. But most of all to find just about all of RipCurl’s up and coming young grommets putting on a serious display of talent.
Weather wise it was pretty well clear and sunny with early morning variable wind that dedicated to the ESE with gusts up to 15 knot by midday.
Yesterday the 19th and we were over on the East Coast at 8.30AM to find chest to well over head high waves, with clean and glassy surfing conditions. The only thing missing was surfers. Not a soul in the water at the time with waves peeling off and more than enough water over the rock bottom. Eventually just before 9.00AM 3 surfers ventured out before the crowd maxed out at 10 surfers. Why wasn’t I there, Oh yeah that’s right I was buried in photos to edit.
Weather wise yesterday was a whole different ball game. The morning started off nicely with light wind and a mostly blue sky. But my late morning there was nothing but rain clouds, and rain it did.
This morning the 20th and right now it’s just gone 5.50AM. But instead of getting ready to hit the waves we are getting ready to take the family up to our mountain side Balinese village for a quick holiday, it is school holidays and what kids don’t want to visit their Grand Ma and Grand Pa in a country environment. But it’s just a quick visit for me and we will be back out there again tomorrow on the hunt for more perfect Bali waves.
We have also loaded the latest Press Release direct from RipCurl on the up coming Padang Padang RipCurl Cup 2018. It’s got all the info and schedule with links so check that out and stay tuned for more on The Cup.
