BALI / Indonesia
11th – 12th July 2018
Hello surfers and thanks big time for stopping by the baliwaves (your eye’s on Bali’s surfing scene since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views. From right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
I’ve also just realized that this year brings us to 20 years of delivering Bali surf reports, weather info, swell predictions, contest info and all round general Bali info. Then there’s the G-Land, Nias, Mentawai islands reports and all the other bits and pieces that go in to make up Bali’s original surf report website. So I think we deserve a big pat on the back hey.
But getting back to the baliwaves as it shows in this latest photo gallery to come out of Bali we had a few nice fun days surfing down at Uluwatu and this is how it looked on the 11th. 3-4ft waves with a clean off shore wind. The best part was that the crowd was very low and super mellow. Mostly blue sky and the water temp a perfect 22 degree’s Celsius, thank you Uluwatu.
Yesterday the 12th and we were up and on the road before the sun popped up. With no sign of a gusty SE Trade wind we set our plan for a Canggu mission, and seeing as though the wind has been strong and usually on shore up that way we were hoping for some low numbers and perfect waves. Arriving around 6.20AM to find wave height in the 2-4ft class with just a light off shore wind on it. There was a few surfers in the water already but no where near the usual numbers. Lots of waves on both the Sand bar and the river mouth at Pererenan.
There was also no sign of excavators rolling boulders into the water to make a jetty either. But there were a team of surveyors measuring up all the beach front from Echo beach left up to the right hander of the Pererenan river mouth, big plans for further development in this area is how it looks.
Weather wise yesterday it was warm and sunny while we were on the scene at Canggu. The wind stayed light and variable through to around 11.00AM and that’s about the time the waves started to get more crowded.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing wave height to have backed off some over night. Only 1-2 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The ESE-SE TRade wind was also into it early, gusting into the 12-17knot class by 7.00AM.
Weather wise today there is a 50/50 mixture of cloud and blue sky and right now at 11.00AM the temperature is on 29 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 71%.
