Howdy peeps and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (keeping Bali surf reports real for the last 20 years) for the start of another surfing week and our latest on surfing and weather conditions. From right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Alright then, so yesterday Sunday the 26th Wayan Ray and I made our way down to Uluwatu to see if there was any action happening at Indonesia’s premier surfing location. Arriving at 9.15AM to find some nice waves hitting the Main Peak and Temple sections. Surfer wise it was pretty quite with maybe 25 at best on both sections and wave height in the head to double head high range. Surfing conditions were very clean and tidy with the wind still blowing straight off shore out of the East and the tide just about on the top. The numbers did pick up a little and I guess the party boys and girls do need to get their sleep, their was also quite a lot of broken beer bottles in the motor bike parking area. Evidence that it was just another normal Saturday night at Uluwatu..
Weather wise it was mostly hot and sunny with the wind shifting a little more to the SSE just before midday
Today Monday the 27th and our 7.00AM surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban wasn’t looking too bad. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was in the waist to well over head class (2-4ft) and the ESE off shore Tradewind was just starting to flicker the flags.
Weather wise it’s been a mostly over cast Monday morning and there was even a few light drops of rain, not enough to wash the car for that matter. Right now at 11.00AM the wind is off shore between Kuta and Uluwatu coming out of the ESE – SE at 8-14knot.
The next tide today will in fact be a 0.2mtr Low at 4.39PM, so watch out for the reef if your planning a late arvo session.
A Big Congratulations to 17 year old local Balinese surfer Ketut Agus for taking out all competitors and winning the Nias Pro QS1000 over the weekend. Watch out for more surfing from Ketut, he’s a regular featured ripper on the baliwaves.
