BALI / INDONESIA
10th – 11th October 2018
hello everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves (keeping Bali surf reports real for us average people since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views. From right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Yeah that’s right for us average folks. You don’t have to be the latest fashion or an Indo rock star to be featured on the baliwaves. Just be at the right location on the right wave at the right time and bang, your on.
Ok so yesterday we were up early and on the road long before the sun was up, making our way up the West coast of Bali to Balian. Seeing as though wave height was expected to be down in the undies range at most locations we thought we’d be better off at the wave magnet option of Balian. Seeing as there’s been no rain along our coast for weeks and weeks the water was nice and clear blue and user friendly. Surfing conditions as it shows in our photo gallery were also user friendly being clean and glassy for the morning session. Wave height out on the Peak was a little over head but on average around the head high mark.
There was by no means lack of learner surfers hanging out at Balian and I don’t think I’ve seen more kooks on long boards since my last surf at Serangan before they locked the gate. But our crew still managed to score afew waves and make it back to shore unscathed with smiles on ntheir faces.
Weather wise it was a 50 / 50 kinda day as the morning rolled on, but by midday it was hot with the temperature up in the 30’s and the wind light on shore out of the SW.
This morning the 11th and wave height is still down in the 1-3ft class depending on where your looking I guess. Here on the Outer Reefs of Tuban we’ve got 1-2ft showing between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The wind has been light and variable but now at 12 noon its coming out of the WSW at 4knt.
The charts are showing a slight bump in wave height for tomorrow morning so keep an eye here on the original Bali surf report for more news and up dates via our so med through out the morning.

Good day,
I recently found this, what appears to be stolen or washed up under a tree, aluminium boat on a remote island south of Sumbawa. I feel someone must be missing this visually brand new ” tinny ” with beautiful artwork on the side. How can we assist to find the owner or owners. ?
Rgds.
Rod.
