BALI / INDONESIA
14th – 15th December 2018
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves (keeping you up to date with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views. From right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
First up, Thanks for taking the time out and all your support. With the Christmas Holiday period just about to begin we thought we had better say thanks for hanging out with the baliwaves. To all the surfers that have come and stayed / surfed with us in 2018 a big thank you to everyone. We hope to see you all again next year ok.
Alright so not a lot has changed over the last few days or really over the last couple of weeks for that matter. Wave height has been fairly consistent in the chest to well over head high class over on the East side of town. Here along Bali’s West Coast it’s been a bit ordinary to say the least with fresh early morning morning on shore Westerly wind that tends to turn more South as the day goes on.
As it shows in our latest photos we have loaded up there has been great waves happening from Nusa Dua all the way up to Keramas and a few breaks in between. I was thinking about boating into Serangan yesterday but with the latest reports of up to 100 learners back in there most days we changed our minds.
Weather wise it’s been a mixed bag of early morning over cast but generally hot and sunny by midday, emphasis on the word hot.
Tomorrows forecast is looking like we might even get a little bump in wave height height but that wind isnt looking the best. It’s looking like around next Wednesday we should get a break in the WSW wind and open uip a few more locations.
Ok make sure you stay tuned here with the original Bali surf report website for more news and up dates tomorrow via our @baliwaves Twitter feed.

What’s the story with these people on short boards getting local “instructors” pushing them onto waves? Seen a lot of this on my last couple of trips to Indo & it’s just out of order if you ask me.
What ever happened to people catching their own waves under their own steam?

Hey Slim
I’m heading over to the east coast on Xmas day for a few days and will probably stay in Sanur. I’ve only surfed Nusa Dua/Sri Lanka on the east coast and wondering which part of Sanur is best to stay in for the waves there?I’ve got a pregnant mrs so we need to stay somewhere half decent and close to the waves. Any pointers mate? I was thinking about boating to Serangan but the P-plate crowds are scaring me off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Nev

Hi Nev, sorry bro I live on the West Coast so I’m really up to date with Sanur accommodation, but I’m sure there is a lot to choose from.
