BALI SURF REPORT, The season of the Pro 2nd – 3rd May 2019

Hello surfers and thanks again for cruzing into the baliwaves (The original Bali surf and weather report website since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.

Yesterday the 2nd and with a small swell and the wind light out of the NE we thought we’d duck up to Canggu early and see if we could beat the crowd that is pretty much a normal thing there these days. But no chance haha, arriving at 6.45AM to find the rivermouth rights with already around 35 surfers on it. While the left hand sandbar was hardly breaking. But we were also lucky enough to find 3 of the Worlds top ranked surfers from Brazil in the water to liven everything up. Warming up for the up and coming WSL CT event at Keramas in another week or so.

Today the 3rd of May and with a new swell gracing Bali we thought we had better head over to Keramas on Bali’s East Coast while the morning Northerly wind was still blowing and tide running up. On arrival it was hard not to notice 6 water photographers (all positioned right next to each other and taking the eact same shots..) so we knew there were Pro’s in the line up of 15 surfers. Yes Pro’s there were but Keramas was doing her thing this morning with some perfect tube rides peeling off from the inside to end section. The “High tide crew” from the Komune peaked at maybe 25 but by the time we packed up at 10.30am there would have only been a handful of surfers left. The wind by that time had also swung light on shore out of the ESE-SE. I did shoot a heap of photos and video footage so that will be ready for you ASAP.

Weather wise today it’s been a warm old Friday here in Bali and right now at 1.50PM the mercury is sitting on 30 degree’s Celsius. Wind direction is now fresh out of the ESE-SE at 10-16knot.

The next tide today in Bali will be a 0.4mtr Low at 3.31PM and tomorrow the 4th of May will have a New Mood rising so watch out for some large tidal differences (big fat Highs and reef exposing Lows).

Tomorrows Surf Forecast is saying to expect this new SSW swell to be slowly backing off through out tomorrow the 4th. Expect early morning light and variable wind before the ESE-SE Trade wind kicks in around mid morning.
